This is an exceptionally scrumptious recipe yet with a dynamic flavour. The recipe is that of a traditional Cornish bread that my mother used to make for us when we were younger and lived in Sierra Leone.
The flavour blend has been inspired by that of an authentic and traditional Lebanese cookie—like bread with sugar, aniseed and turmeric; this is known locally as ‘KAAK’, often served on Eid and eaten with tea or coffee.
