Sundays along the beaches are reserved for idling in the sun and water, and the main event of the day is lunch. The meal begins with icy caipirinhas, and my favorite part is the battered fried fish, piles of it, that might include all varieties of small fish, and whitebait and other bigger fish cut up in chunks. It is served with the ubiquitous accompaniment of rice and beans and the bowls of Molho Campanha to mix with the beans.
