For more than forty years Dad made coffee and walnut cake every week and it was the cake he requested for his eightieth birthday celebration. His love of this cake goes back to when he was a boarder at St George’s College, Weybridge, and was taken for tea by his parents to Fuller’s tea room in Wey bridge, where he later set up Peter’s. Even today, there remains a Fuller’s inscription on the tiled step entrance to the former tea shop.
