Festive Hot Drinks: Toddies and Mulled Wine

The earliest known spiced, or mulled, wine appeared in a first-century Roman cookery book, and similar spiced wines were drunk in the Middle Ages, says food historian Regula Ysewijn. In contemporary times, aromas of mulled wine are a sensory signal that the festive season has arrived. This collection also rounds up hot toddies and festive punch. Cheers!
