  • About
Oneglia, which with the town of Porto Maurizio, makes up the larger city of Imperia, has always been a place of commerce rather than recreation. It is the chief port for the agricultural bounty of the Valle dell’Impero, where much of Liguria’s finest food is grown. The olive oil has always been exceptional, and in recent years demand and production have both grown. This is remarkable because, according to this account written in 1931, things were very different. If you go to Oneglia, be sure to visit the Museo dell’Olio, the Olive Oil Museum.
