It’s ok, you can do this! If you’re a bit nervous about killing live seafood, the most important tip is to put the little guy in the freezer for just long enough for it to go to sleep. It takes away the ‘mobility’ factor, making the whole thing a lot easier to do.

Pierce the shell between the legs with a sharp knife,

Force the knife down to the board.

This will leave a large incision for you to cut the whole lobster in half lengthways.

Remove and discard the digestive tract, lungs and stomach sac then cut each side in half, through the shell.
