We eat a lot less pudding than we used to when Ian and I were first married. Back then we would always have something sweet at the end of dinner, whereas now it’s only a thing we do on special occasions or when we have company. These days, it’s always the classic puddings I find myself coming back to: warming steamed puddings, crème caramel using the freshest of eggs, pavlovas topped with my mother-in-law’s lemon curd or a punnet of Perthshire strawberries – all make the perfect end to a family get-together or dinner with friends.
