THE RIDE
100km Essex Road Ride.
PRE-RIDE

I always get up early before a ride – I hate being rushed and I absolutely love everything about pre-sport breakfasts. My go-to is oats with sassy ingredients, which I soak overnight in oat milk then warm up the following morning. It sounds like a faff but once you’ve made it a few times it becomes second nature.

DURING

I have become an expert on back-pocket foods. On this ride I opted for two blueberry and peanut butter wraps. The shape fits perfectly in the centre of your jersey and the softer it becomes, the more satisfying it tastes. The snacks before and after the main event were a Squares Bar (after a tip off from Hannah Barnes) and a Veloforte bar – the chocolate one is divine.
