Noto is my small-plates, NYC/Japanese-inspired restaurant. It was named after a very good friend of mine, Bob Noto, my 80-year-old flatmate when I first moved to NYC, and it is heavily inspired by the cool, low-key restaurants I used to love when I lived there. The idea was simple: a small restaurant with a busy bar that you can eat or just drink at, with great food at a price point accessible to all, soundtracked by my favourite hip hop. The recipes here are casual but still refined, and they’re made for sharing.
