When we first opened, savoury wasn’t a big part of our menu, but all that changed in 2020 when I realised we had to approach the savoury menu the same way we did the cakes: making sure all the recipes were indulgent, generous and most definitely a treat.
I can’t take credit for most of the recipes in this chapter. That goes to Darren Campbell, our head chef, who took our vision and came up with a savoury menu to be proud of.
Here you’ll find his burgers and bakes, all packed with flavour and texture. If he had a signature bake, it would be his sausage rolls. They are a firm favourite and sell out every day — when we first put them on the menu we wiped the local butcher out of sausage meat!
