Farewell

Around the world in eighty days: the bet is won and from the depths of despair come love, romance and everlasting friendships. My eighty dishes not only follow the route of our intrepid hero’s voyage, but also relate to my own personal journey. In Around the World in 80 Days, we grow to realize — along with Fogg — that in travel, as in life, you can plan all you like, but you shall never beat fate, you’ll never be able to predict the future and, possibly most wonderfully of all, that there’s a whole lot to be gained by losing track of time. Let’s raise a glass to travel and travelling companions; to friends both absent and present; to sharing these recipes and moments with the ones you love; to filling scrapbooks with recipes and cuttings like our grandparents did; to keeping diaries and sketch books; and — most of all — to embracing life.
