When I fly over the Cairngorms into Inverness airport I get that warm feeling of coming home, enhanced by a delightful malted whiff of whisky in the air. If I time the flight right, I can plan supper too by nipping over to the other side of the runway to Connage Highland Dairy, an operating farm and a cheese dairy where they sell their own produce as well as a wide range of cheeses from Switzerland, Italy, France and Spain. You can taste and buy Gorgonzola, Manchego and Vacherin while you watch crowdie and Gouda being made through the dairy’s viewing windows.
