Also known as culantro and sawleaf herb, because of the jagged edges of the leaves. In fact, they look like long quills. The herb is sold fresh, in bunches, and is used as a main staple in Puerto Rican cooking and sofritos. Although less pungent than recao, cilantro works fine as a substitute.
