Known as West Indian or green pumpkin, they are available in markets specializing in West Indian produce. The pumpkins, not to be confused with pie pumpkin, come in a variety of sizes and shapes, usually large, and are generally not sold whole, but by the wedge. The yellow flesh has a delicate flavour and is used mainly in soups and as a vegetable.
