This classic French recipe can go wherever you wish to take it. Traditionally it was made with black cherries but my mother used to make it with the slightly sour geans picked from the beautiful wild cherry tree in our hillside garden. It lends itself to many fruits and berries and is such a simple and delicious way of presenting our summer harvest.
