The classic nigiri is a beautiful combination of red-colored tuna on white rice—the color contrast is what makes it look so appetizing.

After learning how to cut tuna into sashimi portions, you can simply place the tuna sashimi pieces over sushi rice balls. You can also try making the rice balls smaller and rounder and the tuna pieces smaller. This, too, is a traditional form of sushi called temari sushi .
