This takes a while to cook but very little preparation is required, though you may need to order the ingredients from your butcher. Plan to make the stock at least a couple of days before you make your ramen. It will sit in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days or you can freeze it for up to 3 months. As you simmer the broth it will start to turn from clear to a milky colour.
