One of my favorite chef’s treats is snacking on the crumble topping that falls off a pie and bakes on the sheet alongside the pie in the oven. This dessert idea came to me after attending a dinner party where the appetizer was pita bread dipped in olive oil, and then dipped in dukkha. The gist is the same here, a dip-as-you-go dessert where the caramel sauce binds the firm fruit with the salty crunch of crumble topping.
