This is my go-to pickle liquid ratio for vegetables as well as for firmer fruit such as apples, pears, and rhubarb.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups [480 ml] vinegar, any variety except balsamic
  • ¾ cup [

Method

In a large saucepan, combine the vinegar, 2 cups [480 ml] of water, the sugar, and the salt. Over high heat, bring to a boil. Lower the heat to medium-low and simmer until the sugar and salt are dissolved.
