My first baking adventure happened when I was ten years old. I was watching one of the first iterations of food television and saw a show where Mrs. Fields—of national cookie-chain fame—was making a white chocolate cheesecake. I love white chocolate (controversial, I know), so everything about this cheesecake was calling my name. I made it and it was a disaster, yet everyone in my family loved it anyway.
