This delicious sweet recipe is traditional in both countries. In the Czech Republic they are served with plum jam and grated sweet cheese and in Slovakia with a sweet ‘snow’ made with caster sugar, egg whites, icing sugar and jam.

Ingredients

  • 250 ml/8 fl oz/1 cup tepid milk

Method

  1. To make the dough, combine the milk with the caster sugar in a small bowl/mug and crumble in the yeast. Stir and leave to rise for 10-15 minutes.
