Meat Croquettes

On our way to our country house in Teresópolis, a city one hour from Rio, my family used to stop on the highway at a roadside place called Casa Do Alemão. People line up to eat their famous croquettes, which I have tried to replicate here. The recipe is quite simple and everything can be done ahead of time. You can make them small for hors d’oeuvres or a little bigger to be served as a main course with a green salad. The coating (flour, egg and crumbs) provides texture and keeps the oil fro
