Place the quinoa in a fine mesh sieve. Rinse under cold running water for 30 seconds to remove any bitterness on the outside of the grains. Drain and place in a large saucepan with 400ml water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 10-15 minutes or until the quinoa has absorbed all water. Cover and set aside for 5 minutes to steam.
