Donuts have been popular for so long that they have their own distinct culture. For example, can somebody explain to me why donut holes are so feverishly beloved? Ever worked in an office? Whenever some jackass shows up to work with a box of donut holes, suddenly he’s a conquering hero and the greatest person who has ever lived. I don’t get it, but such is the power of the donut hole.
