This dish is a perfect example of fusing two cultures into a singular delight. The highly popular Latin dessert, tres leches, is a sponge cake soaked with three milks. Thai tea is an iconic drink in Southeast Asia that is spiked with sweetened condensed milk. Knowing that both of these desserts have a sweet profile and a key common ingredient, it was a scintillating idea to marry them together.
My version of Thai Tea Tres Leches also uses coconut milk instead of evaporated milk. Coc
