There is a treasure trove of a bookstore in new york city called bonnie slot-nick cookbooks. It is a local bookshop filtered through a West Village lens: small, quaint, very knowledgeable staff of one, odd hours, well stocked. Better yet, it trades largely in vintage cookbooks. Luckily, Bonnie lets customers browse (though I always buy more than I need), and it was during such a session that I made an important discovery.
