This is perfect winter comfort food, the kind of thing you might make on a rainy Sunday. The recipe started life as Darren’s Braised Beef Pie, which was amazing as it was, but I was keen to incorporate an ale from our friends at Black Isle Brewery, so we tweaked it and added their Porter and this recipe was born. It’s packed with meat (there’s no veg to bulk it out) and it is rich, hearty and filling.
