Food entrepreneur, author and culinary educator

Ariane Daguin is the owner of D’Artagnan, the first purveyor of game and foie gras in the United States. Both she and her company are devoted advocates for natural, sustainable and humane production. A native of Gascony in the southwest of France, by the age of ten, Ariane was expert at deboning ducks, rendering duck fat, preparing terrines and cooking the game birds her grandfather hunted. Ariane attended Barnard College. She is the author of a French-language memoir, D’Artagnan à New York. She has received numerous awards and honors, including the Chevalier in the Legion of Honor and Lifetime Achievement Award from the Specialty Food Association. She is an officier in the National Order of Merit (l’ordre national du Mérite) and is a board member of the French American Chamber of Commerce in New York and the City Harvest Food Board.
